Based on information from the National Weather Service, the Austin area is expected to experience heavy rains Tuesday evening through Wednesday.

3:45 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 4

All district events and activities will continue as scheduled this evening.

AISD will continue to monitor the weather and the latest information available from the National Weather Service overnight.

At this time, AISD classes and operations also will continue as scheduled Wednesday. The district will provide updates to school communities and the news media if inclement weather affects school and district operations tomorrow morning.

The district also will provide updates through its social media channels: Austin ISD on Twitter and Facebook.

Bus Transportation: Rain may cause delays to bus pick-up and drop-off times. If your child rides the bus and you would like to learn how specific bus routes may be affected, please call AISD’s transportation department between 7:45 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. at 512-414-0238.

Families also may call dispatchers at AISD's bus terminals for information about the routes for their respective schools, beginning at 4:30 a.m. through the completion of evening transportation routes:

  • Nelson Bus Terminal in Northeast Austin: 512-414-6520.
  • Saegert Bus Terminal in Southwest Austin: 512-414-6500 and
  • Southeast Bus Terminal: 512-414-8510.
