Read for the Record is an event that mobilizes children and adults to participate in a shared reading experience.

The goal of the event is to draw attention to the importance of literacy by highlighting reading.

On Oct. 21, people nationwide will unite to read the children’s book Bunny Cakes by bestselling author and illustrator Rosemary Wells.

When: 8:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. Oct. 21
Where: Austin ISD campuses, including PPCD, Pre-K and kindergarten
