The Austin ISD Office of Academics, in partnership with the Arts and Humanities Division at Austin Community College, would like to invite the community to the Vision + Voice reception from 6–8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at the new ACC Highland Campus, 6101 Airport Blvd. The reception follows the successful launch of the Vision + Voice poetry contest, an idea that came from the Literacy Action Plan to celebrate student writing.

AISD students submitted more than 800 poems. One winning poem was selected per grade level and was paired with an ACC student art piece.

The event will feature student poetry readings and the poster gallery of the winning poems. Office of Academics staff will also announce the launch of Voice Print, the digital press of the district to display student and teacher literacy work.
