Austin Community College hosts a college enrollment and resource fair June 14 at ACC Highland, 6001 Airport Blvd., as the college prepares to open the new Highland Campus in August.
“Destination: ACC @ Highland” will give prospective students an opportunity to meet with ACC representatives and get assistance with enrollment, financial aid, support services, college and career planning, and more. A variety of academic and career training programs will be on hand, and the event will include information sessions for adult learners and students interested in transferring to a university.
The fair runs 10 a.m.–2 p.m. on the west side of ACC Highland, formerly known as Highland Mall (use the main mall entrance; the event takes place in the former men’s Dillard’s space).
Highland Campus is at the northwest corner of ACC Highland and will be among the college’s largest locations, with an initial capacity of 6,000 students. The campus features classrooms, study areas, library, student commons, and ACCelerator—the nation’s largest learning lab, which provides individualized instruction and an alternative to traditional classroom lectures.
ACCelerator’s offerings will include Developmental Mathematics, a new course that uses technology to help students accelerate their achievement of college readiness in math.
Students interested in enrolling for fall classes need to bring with them:
- a photo ID;
- proof of residency;
- high school or college assessment scores; and
- college or GED transcripts.
