Austin ISD and AISD Literacy Work Group, Education Austin, and First Book teamed up to bring 40,000 free books to Title I campuses earlier this year, and the books are now ready to be distributed to campuses. 

A book distribution will be held Saturday, March 29, from 12-5 p.m. at the Allan facilities. Individuals who registered with First Book can receive up to 50 books. Please bring a bag or box to transport books. The books are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so please arrive early. To pick up books on behalf of colleagues, you must be able to provide the first and last names to verify they are registered with First Book.

If you serve Title I students at Austin ISD, please register with First Book to receive books for your classroom or students' libraries. You can sign up on Saturday at the event or online at http://www.firstbook.org/aft. Select the American Federation of Teachers to get counted.
