The Kennedy Center's Education Division of the National Partnerships held its annual Any Given Child (AGC) Exchange in Arlington, VA on February 11-12, 2014.
The AGC Exchange convenes selected cities to share best practices and new strategies around equity, access and quality in creative learning opportunities.
Representatives from public school districts, arts and education organizations, arts and humanities councils, foundations, and government officials from arts and economic development departments were in attendance from the following cities:
- Austin, TX
- Baltimore, MD
- Fresno, CA
- Jacksonville, FL
- Juneau, AK
- Madison, WI
- Missoula, MT
- Portland, OR
- Sacramento, CA
- Sarasota, FL
- Southern Nevada
- Springfield, MO
- Tulsa, OK
During the AGC Exchange participants and organizers from each city discussed ideas for building capacity in local arts agencies to deliver programs, increasing quality of arts programs for students and teachers, building infrastructure for plan implementation and sustainability, and gathering evidence of impact.
Representatives from Austin, Texas shared an in-depth report about Austin ISD’s 10-year implementation strategy and best practices for implementation.
