Thanks to AISD Parent Support Specialist Lisa Gonzales, more than 100 students at Houston Elementary School have received free shoes for the second year in a row!

Last school year, Ms. Gonzales identified an organization that provides children with a free pair of new shoes by shoemaker New Balance. She contacted "Shoes That Fit", submitted some paperwork this fall and received the shipment of shoes. "Shoes That Fit" contacted Ms. Gonzales about another set of free shoes for Houston students. Before the holidays, she received another shipment of new shoes to distribute.

Ms. Gonzales says she uses the Inter net to find free stuff all the time. And, the school community benefits from her committment to finding resources for her students.
