Austin Independent School District Superintendent Meria Carstarphen unveiled the Administrative Recommendation for a Facility Master Plan (FMP) at the September 26 Regular Board Meeting. The FMP aligns with the district’s strategic plan goals to ensure academic success for all students and prepare them to graduate ready for college, career, and life in a globally competitive economy. The administration recommended that the Board of Trustees adopt a Facility Master Plan at the November 21 Regular Board Meeting; adopt a Citizens’ Bond Advisory Committee at the December 12 Regular Board Meeting; and approve Annual Facilities Recommendations, for school year 2012-2013, at the December 12 Regular Board Meeting.

Two public hearings will be held regarding FMP:

• Tuesday, October 25 at 6:00 pm in CAC Board Auditorium
• Monday, November 28 at 6:00 pm (location TBD)

 Each public hearing will be recorded or broadcast live on AISD Channel 22.
