The Austin Independent school district is pleased to announce that it has been chosen to partner with CASEL, a leader in Social Emotional Learning. Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) ensures that children and adults are engaged as life-long learners who are self-aware, caring and connected to others, and responsible in their decision-making. Austin ISD is collaborating with CASEL, the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning to bring this nationwide initiative to Austin. CASEL's main focus is to teach children five main points of becoming a better learner: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.
