How do we engage the business community?
To ensure small minority (MBE), and women-owned businesses (WBE) are aware of current contracting opportunities, the District takes the following steps:
- Maintains a distribution list of small minority-, and women-owned businesses expressing interest in contracting with the Austin ISD.
- Promotes current bond program contracting opportunities at public outreach and procurement events hosted by EOO, area chambers of commerce, and other construction business partners. Learn more about 2022 Bond Program projects at AISDFuture.com
- Hosts and participates in networking events for HUB/MBE/WBE subcontractors to connect with 2022 Bond Program awarded general contractors.
- Hosts quarterly trainings to equip HUB/MBE/WBE subcontractors with tools to better navigate the AISD procurement process.
