Austin ISD's Technology Officer appointed to Board of Directors of national school professional association

Kevin Schwartz IT officer Austin ISD's Technology Officer for Learning and Systems Kevin Schwartz has been appointed to a three-year term to the CoSN (the Consortium for School Networking) Board of Directors. 

CoSN is the premier professional association for school system technology leaders. CoSN empowers educational leaders to leverage technology to create and grow engaging learning environments.

Schwartz has been with the Austin ISD for more than three years where he leads a diverse team of more than 175 talented technologists to implement transformational systems. Prior to AISD he was the Chief Technology Officer for the Clear Creek Independent School District and has more than 20 years of experience leading K-12 technology initiatives. These initiatives include more than 70 schools where every student has a computer, such as Austin ISD's successful Everyone:1 Chromebook program serving more than 20,000 high school students.

He sees his role at AISD to realize the district's mission through technology and partnerships. The mission of the district is to provide a comprehensive educational experience that is high quality, challenging, and inspires all to students to make a positive contribution to society.

The CoSN Board of Directors is a highly dedicated group of education professionals who believe in the power of technology to revolutionize learning. The board is a "hands-on" governing body comprising members who are leaders in the field and who are involved in many facets of CoSN.
