AISD Now Offering Transportation Districtwide to Garcia Young Men’s Leadership Academy
As part of Austin ISD’s National School Choice Week celebration, Superintendent Paul Cruz announced that Austin ISD will offer transportation to Gus Garcia Young Men’s Leadership Academy districtwide, starting next school year.
Districtwide transportation will allow more young men in sixth- through eighth-grade who wish to go to an all-boys school the opportunity to do so.
During National School Choice Week, schools and organizations plan independent events to raise awareness of the K-12 education options available to children and families.
With 130 schools, AISD has a wide variety of educational choices offered nowhere else in Central Texas, with unique and innovative programming supporting all students. Career Launch, Early College High School, Montessori and Pre–K are among the many options for students.
Garcia YMLA’s programming includes health science, computer science and robotics, preparing students for the Career Launch programs at LBJ and Reagan early college high schools. The early college high school programs allow students to graduate from high school with both a high school diploma and an associate degree.
