AUSTIN, TX—Next week, Austin ISD in partnership with KLRU and Austin Public Libraries present an evening of community cinema, featuring “The Graduates/Los Graduados” documentary.

What: Documentary on Latino education in the United States: remarks by Pauline Dow, AISD’s chief academic officer.

When: From 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1

Where: Windsor Park Branch Library, 5833 Westminster Drive

Background: Families will have an opportunity to discuss issues that affect Latino students in the Austin area and throughout the country. The bilingual documentary explores the challenges six Latino and Latina students from across the nation have faced, offering first-hand perspectives on the barriers they have to overcome in order to make their dreams come true.
