Austin Partners in Education provides innovate, volunteer-driven academic support programs in reading and math to Austin’s students.  By placing more adults in the classroom who implement high-engagement learning activities, APIE reinforces AISD’s efforts to further close the achievement gap. 

Through their innovative, volunteer-driven Classroom Coaching programs, APIE transforms whole classroom instruction into small, interactive learning teams. 1,000 trained volunteer coaches provide students with structured practice in reading or math. In small groups, volunteers can offer more personalized instruction to students and bring real-world relevance into the classroom.  In addition, APIE’s mentoring program supplies 800 volunteers who meet each week with individual students to build student confidence and model healthy relationships.
