Pursuant to recent revisions to district policy BQB(Regulation), we are offering opportunities for CAC members to attend a district-wide training event. These training events will be in addition to the CAC training options we already offer (i.e., online training materials, campus-based training, and training provided by the Coordinator of District Advisory Bodies). The training will cover the resources on the CAC website and compliance with CAC bylaws, and the campus budget process. These events will also provide an opportunity for CAC members to meet with the Board Ad Hoc Committee on Policy and Process Review for Site-Based Decision-Making. This Board committee will seek input from CAC members on recommendations related to the role of CACs.
Even if your CAC members have already received training, they may still want to attend one of these events for additional information and to meet with the Board committee. If your CAC members have not received training recently, these events will satisfy the training requirement if most of the members attend. Alternatively, a few members of your CAC could attend this training and share the information with the remainder of your CAC.
For your convenience, the training session will be offered at two locations:
Wednesday, October 23, 2013, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Reagan High School Cafeteria
Wednesday, October 30, 2013, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Bowie High School Cafeteria
Child care, Spanish language interpretation, and light refreshments will be provided
Both sessions will cover the same material.
To help us plan for these events, we ask that CAC members indicate which session they plan to attend by submitting an RSVP at this link:
