  3. Registration open for out-of-school students to take October exit-level TAKS tests

Out-of-school students who still need to take exit-level retests of the October TAKS exam can register online, now through Sept. 17, at www.TexasAssessment.com/taksoos. The TAKS exit-level tests will be administered on the following dates:

  • Oct. 22-English language arts
  • Oct. 23-mathematics
  • Oct. 24-science
  • Oct. 25-social studies

Visit www.TexasAssessment.com/oosTestSites for a list of campus testing locations. 

Since the TAAS tests are no longer being administered, former TAAS examinees (including former TEAMS examinees) will take the appropriate part of the TAKS exit-level English language arts and/or mathematics test(s). TAKS scores will be matched to the appropriate TAAS passing standard. The next administration of the TAKS retest for former TAAS examinees will be:

  • Oct. 22-English language arts writing
  • Oct. 23-mathematics
  • Oct. 24-English language arts reading

When testing, examinees should arrive at the test site 30 minutes before the designated testing time and bring picture identification, such as a driver’s license, DPS ID, military ID, school ID, or resident alien card to test. Examinees will not be allowed to test without a picture ID.
